Intimate Systems

Intimate Systems explores the quiet, interior spaces that exist within networks designed for visibility. On-chain art is inherently public and permanent, yet beneath this transparency, subtle gestures, private signals, and traces of human presence persist.

This exhibition highlights works that examine how individuality, perception, and expression survive within structured systems of code, logic, and networks. Artists consider how small, intimate interactions such as a pause, a repeated pattern, or a hidden mark can shape presence and meaning in digital environments.

The works on view engage with systems as material, revealing rhythm, behavior, and nuance through abstraction, participation, and generative logic. Some invite collaboration, while others quietly encode human traces into their architecture. Across these approaches, the exhibition foregrounds presence over sentiment, and structure over illustration.

Following a lineage of artists who translate logic into expression, from Vera Molnar and Manfred Mohr to JODI, Jenny Holzer, and contemporary practitioners like Sarah Friend and Lauren Lee McCarthy, Intimate Systems demonstrates how code and networks can be simultaneously rigorous and resonant.

By tracing the subtle circulation of human signals through visible systems, the exhibition reveals the architectures of thought, reflection, and relation that thrive beneath the surface of digital networks.

0xb88d4fde

0xb88d4fde is a blockchain artwork shaped by cryptographic hashes of private messages, subtly recorded when the work is transferred.

This is achieved by using the optional data argument of safeTransferFrom¹ as an invisible channel for human signals.

The collector generates a cryptographic hash of their private message off-chain and transfers the token with this data.

The new hash is combined with the current hashchain state `currentHash = keccak256(currentHash, newHash)`, deterministically reshaping the initial wireframe cube into a unique deformation that carries every past contribution².

Over time, this creates a parallel chain of subtle human signals moving through the system, and the wireframe becomes a visual record of accumulated traces.

The process recalls a palimpsest: manuscripts once scraped and reused, leaving light remnants beneath the new writing.

The resulting form is simple, rigid, and geometric, yet layered with accumulated, intimate traces. To observers, it appears as a minimal cube; to participants, it is a structure shaped by presence.

¹ In ERC721, the standard transfer function safeTransferFrom accepts an optional data (bytes) argument that is often unused.
² Additionally, the contract implements the Sculpture interface from the World Computer Sculpture Garden (0x2a362fF002f7ce62D3468509dD2A4a9f5A8EBBb0), allowing the artwork to be rendered as a standalone sculpture with a transparent background and adaptive color.

KALEIDOSCOPE OF ORCHESTRATED DISSONANCE

We live in networks we can't fully control, yet coordination can make a difference. A network is just a set of rules until a human interaction comes into play, like rocks drifting the water flow to new territories. This interactive work grants all the bidders a privilege: the possibility to control one point of view. It can be moved around, locked in place, or released to the blockchain stream. Every move has an impact, even the slightest, fragmenting or merging. It's constantly changing until viewers decide it should stop. This is when they can agree, each keeping their different point of view. And when someone finally wants to preserve that moment, everyone loses control and it starts all over again. A dissensus based consensus, an orchestrated dissonance. HOW IT WORKS Use the nav buttons to select one point of view, move it around using the keyboard (ZQSDAE or WASDQE), lock it and release it. Once more than half of the 16 points of view are simultaneously locked, the mint of an edition token is unlocked. All viewers that contributed to reaching the majority by locking their point of view will receive an edition. After the mint, all points of view will be released again.

Here, For Now

Here, For Now is a shared intimate space held by a single collector.

Anyone can enter the space through a small onchain act of presence, adding themselves to the moment and shaping the image for as long as they choose to remain.

The work reflects the brief overlaps of the people who were here at the same time.
